After your Mini purchase, it’s recommended to seek repairs through factory authorized dealers, who have firsthand knowledge of your vehicle, as well as being up to date in the latest service bulletins issued by the manufacturer.

In the case of leases, many car leases including those from Mini Financial Services, require the use of original equipment parts when making the car whole again.

Training

Mini mechanics are required to have training and an associate’s degree from an accredited public or private technical school. Additional training is offered through the Mini/BMW Service Technician Education Program which covers specific techniques related to Mini vehicles.

The training program located in Grand Prairie, Texas, includes a 16-week body and paint training program.

Loan car policy

Mini dealers may offer loaner vehicles for owners whose car servicing will take longer than 2-hours, except in the case of a service resulting from an accident—which will likely be covered by insurance. As demand for loaners may be high, it is always a smart idea to make a service and loaner appointment in advance.

Collision repairs

Mini maintains a network of Certified Collision Repair Centers, usually affiliated with local dealers and service departments. There, technicians receive extensive, and continual training, of repair techniques tested and developed by factory engineers. Using original Mini parts, the results are certified to return the vehicle back to original factory specification.
