Mercedes Benz Maintenance Schedules Q&A

Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Pricing & Schedules

The Best or Nothing has long been the Mercedes-Benz motto, and so it is with their service schedules, too. One of the most revered brands in automotive history, getting behind the wheel of one is akin to an event. It is not a conveyance for going from point A to point B. It’s a Mercedes-Benz, so it’s much more.

All new Mercedes-Benz automobiles are warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. This plan covers the components, but what about those parts that get used up? While other brands in this luxury segment offer complimentary scheduled service, Mercedes-Benz has pre-paid maintenance plans, which include multiple services at discounted rates.

Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Guidelines

10,000-Mile Interval: Service A

For regularly scheduled maintenance, Mercedes employs the ASSYST Plus service display in the onboard service computer. Here, you will see a message displaying the remaining time or distance before the next service due date. A Mercedes-Benz service schedule is divided into 10,000-mile service intervals. The first is labeled as “Service A.” At this juncture, Mercedes recommends a synthetic oil and filter replacement, fluid level check and correction, a multi-point inspection and windshield wiper replacement.

20,000-Mile Interval: Service B

The 20,000-mile service is known as Service B. Oil change and filter replacement tops the list, along with an in-cabin filter replacement, brake fluid change, fluid level check and correction, a multi-point inspection, wiper blade replacements and engine air filter replacement.

30,000- and 40,000-Mile Mark

The services reoccur at the 30,000- and 40,000-mile mark, where it’s more of the same, that being a synthetic oil and oil filter replacement, a wiper blade change, fluid level checks, and wiper blade replacements.

Extended Service/Extended Warranties

This and other services describe the basic scheduled maintenance that will occur for the first 50,000 miles. But what happens if you decide to go for the long haul and keep your Mercedes-Benz for longer than that. Don’t stress, as the company offers their Extended Limited Warranty which boosts original coverage options for 1-, 2- or 3-years over the original 4-year/50,000 mile warranty.

Mercedes-Benz also offers extended the warranties for high mileage as follows:

    • 1-year/75,000-mile
    • 1-year/100,000-miles
    • 2-years/75,000-miles
    • 2-years/100,000-miles
    • 3-years/75,000-miles
    • 3 years/100,000-miles

These plans, which cover your vehicle entirely, can be bought at any time up to the expiration of the original 4-year/50,000-mile warranty. The Mercedes-Benz Extended Limited Warranty coverage will protect owners if any of the following parts and components need replacement: Engine, transmission, supercharger, turbocharger, 4Matic components, SUV four-wheel drive system, rear axle, cooling system, fuel injection system electrical, steering, suspension traction and stability systems, climate control, central locking system, COMAND/MCS, and the in-car entertainment system including navigation. The price of these extended warranties is negotiable and are transferable to another owner when sold in a private sale, and service can be completed at more than 350 authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships.
