Lotus Recall History

Check your Lotus’ Vehicle Identification Number or VIN at KBB’s Car Recalls above.

Lotus has had a handful of recalls in past years for its vehicles dating back a decade over engine issues and incorrect labeling. Among the affected models are the Elise, Exige and Evora sports cars.

In 2014 Lotus recalled 860 vehicles including 2008-2011 Elise and Exige and 2011 Evora vehicles due to a detached oil cooler line. A detached hose could spill oil onto the tire causing slippery conditions or into the engine and become a fire risk. The latest data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows a completion rate of 36.7 percent as of April 2016.

Lotus recalled 28 2013 Evora vehicles for having incorrect Federal Certification Labels. An incorrect label can cause confusion for owners when finding out if a particular recall is applicable to their vehicle. A new compliance label will be replaced to fix the issue for owners.

Owners may contact Lotus customer service at 1-800-245-6887 for more information.
