Lexus Auto Repair Q&A

Lexus Dealership Repair Options

After purchasing your new Lexus, you may want to seek repairs through a Lexus authorized dealer, who has firsthand knowledge of your vehicle, as well as being up to date in the latest service bulletins issued by the manufacturer.

In the case of a Lexus on lease, many car leases including those originating from Lexus Financial Services, will require the use of Lexus original equipment parts when making the car whole again.

While independent shops or big box automotive service centers may offer attractive rates, Lexus dealers use genuine Lexus parts in performing repairs. In many cases, regularly scheduled maintenance is included for a limited time. Check with your local Lexus service advisor for more information.

Training

Lexus service mechanics receive factory training on the latest techniques through the Lexus Commitment to Perfection (LCTP) certification program. Here they learn specific techniques necessary to keep your Lexus running properly. They include courses by the Lexus Certified Collision Centers training school where mechanics and technicians are instructed in the latest techniques for paint, body and electrical/mechanical repairs.

Loan car policy

If your Lexus vehicle is in for a warranty-covered repair, Lexus offers complimentary loaner vehicles for services that will take eight hours or longer. If you are a regular customer of an individual dealer, some may offer loaner cars for repairs taking more than two hours. In all cases, call ahead for a service appointment and loaner availability. If your car is in for collision repair, and the dealer has no available loaners, your insurance policy may cover the costs of securing a rental vehicle. Read your policy’s fine print for more details.

Collision repairs

Lexus Certified Collision Centers are the official names for dealer body shops and Lexus certified independent shops to work on and repair Lexus vehicles that have been in collisions. In some cases, they are body shops that are connected to Lexus dealerships, or are highly regarded and Lexus-certified independent shops, known for high-quality work using specific Lexus OEM parts.
