  • They use top-quality manufacturer-recommended or “official” parts
  • Parts usually come with a manufacturer's warranty - ask the dealer about this as details may vary
  • They have the highest level of training and knowledge, and their labor rates may reflect this

“Independent” refers to a service center that services multiple makes instead of specializing. In addition:

About TPMS Sensor Replacement

BulletIcon
A tire pressure sensor is designed to warn that one or more of your tires is underinflated. All cars built since 2007 are required to have this system. The most common sensor uses a battery and operates via a wireless transmitter mounted inside the rim of your tire’s wheel. When it detects low pressure, it sends a signal to your vehicle’s computer system that shows up on your instrument panel as an icon of a tire or some other alert. Most warn of low pressure without indicating a specific tire, while more advanced systems can flag an individual wheel or indicate the pressure in each tire. The batteries in tire pressure sensors last around five to seven years but sometimes they can fail earlier. The sensors can also be damaged from potholes or other sudden jarring. Replacing the sensor is easy for a tire retailer or your dealership service department. Your service technician will also electronically reset the system after replacing the sensors or whenever you replace your tires.

Jeep Dealership Repair Options

After the purchase or lease of your Jeep, it’s recommended that you seek out repairs at your local Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler or Ram (CDJR) dealer who is the first point of repair service for the proper maintenance and care of your vehicle. These service points have up-to-date information as well as the latest service bulletins and recall notices, as issued by the manufacturer.

In the case of a leased Jeep, many of the lease contracts including those from Chrysler Capital, Jeep’s financial partner, will require the use of Mopar original equipment parts in the process of making the vehicle whole again. To avoid service and repair surprises, examine your policy parameters. In some cases, insurance companies will pay only to a certain point, leaving you responsible for any additional costs.

Some FCA vehicles using special materials such as ultra-high-strength steel, aluminum, magnesium and carbon fiber require special handling during vehicle repairs. In those instances, a member of the FCA Certified Collision Care Network may be the only option for getting it repaired properly.

Training

FCA-approved Jeep repair mechanics receive factory training on the latest techniques and are required to take certification tests to keep your Jeep vehicle running properly. Technical service bulletins are regularly issued to update the 1,400+ FCA Certified Network shops on the latest information to provide a successful repair to your Jeep SUV.

Loan car policy

If your Grand Cherokee, Compass or other Jeep brand vehicle requires warranty repairs within the 3-year/36,000-mile warranty period, alternate transportation may be available through your dealer. Consult with your service advisor for more information. If your Jeep is in for collision repair, the use of a loaner may be covered by an insurance policy rider.

Collision repairs

FCA LLC operates its FCA Certified Collision Care Program which is a network of dealer body shops and certified independent service providers who are certified, audited and approved to perform work that may be outside the scope of another independent shop. By using the FCA Owner’s App on their smartphone, owners can schedule service visits, check recalls and stay up to date with their car’s maintenance history. There is also the ability to contact for roadside assistance and more.
