Ferrari Maintenance Schedules Q&A

Ferrari Maintenance Pricing & Schedules

When you buy into the legendary brand from Maranello, Italy, you don’t just buy an automobile, you are joining a lifestyle. Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1939, as an off-shoot of the Alfa Romeo racing division, it built its first car in 1940, but is officially recognized as starting production in 1947. Today the brand is best known for its Formula 1 team, and its cars are viewed as symbols of speed, luxury and wealth.

Like all vehicles on the road today, Ferrari vehicles require proper maintenance in order to get the most out of them. To that end, the Scuderia (stable) has compiled a service schedule, that if followed, will provide many years of driving enjoyment.

Ferrari Maintenance Guidelines

Annual Checkups & 7-Year Maintenance Plan

The guidelines for your Ferrari vehicle center around annual checkups that help to maintain your individual vehicle. The brand has a General Maintenance Program which covers maintenance for the first seven years of the car’s life. During this time, Ferrari-trained technicians aim to keep each vehicle in perfect working order. The service is “linked” to each individual car, and passes on to the new owner if that particular car is sold. Items included in the program range from labor, original replacement parts, lubricants, engine oil, and brake fluid. The scheduled services take place once a year.

First-Year Service

An example of first-year service includes replacement of the engine oil and oil filter, the in-cabin air filter, a check of the indicator lights, a visual brake inspection of pads and discs, an inspection of electric parking brake system, a gear oil check with the top off, if necessary, a check of the hydraulic fluid levels, a visual inspection for leaks, and a front and rear suspension component check. Finally, your Ferrari is road tested and returned to you with a complimentary hand wash and vacuum.

Second-Year Service or 12,500 Miles

At two years or 12,500 miles, your Ferrari will be due for its two-year inspection and service. It is generally a repeat of the one-year maintenance with the addition of an auxiliary belt replacement in a check of engine and gearbox mounting fastener tightness.

Fourth-Year Service or 37,500 Miles

At four years or 37,500 miles, it’s more of the same but now includes a replacement of spark plugs and once again, the auxiliary belt replacement.

Ferrari ownership is not for the faint of wallet; some dealers are charging $800, $1,200 and $1,995, respectively, for vehicles that are beyond the seven-year maintenance program.

Extended Warranty and Maintenance Plans

Every new Ferrari has a 3-year/unlimited mileage factory warranty in addition to the 7-year free maintenance program. The factory warranty can be extended by two years with the bumper-to-bumper coverage. This added cost feature extends the warranty through the fourth and fifth year of ownership.

Power15 Extended Warranty Program

To quell any fears over long-term ownership, Ferrari recently introduced its new Power15 extended warranty program. This program allows clients the option of extending warranty for up to 15 years of coverage. A Ferrari’s new car limited warranty can be extended to a fourth or fifth year. After the fifth year, the new power warranty can be extended annually up to the 15th year of ownership from when the car was new. Coverage is transferable, which adds value to any subsequent sale of your Ferrari vehicle. Eligible vehicles must pass a 101-point mechanical check and all services must have been performed at an authorized Ferrari dealership to qualify.
