Many Dodge and Dodge Ram branded vehicles are part of Takata airbag inflator recalls, while Dodge vehicles also have been called back for concerns over cruise control, gear shifters and remote hacking, among other issues.

A 2015 recall by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV of more than 4 million vehicles with Takata driver’s side airbag inflators includes 2004-08 Dodge Ram 1500 pickups, 2005-09 Dodge Ram 2500 pickups, 2006-09 Dodge Ram 3500 pickups, 2007-09 Dodge Ram 3500 cab chassis vehicles, 2008-10 Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500 cab chassis vehicles, 2004-08 Dodge Durango SUVs, 2005-10 Dodge Charger sedans, 2005-10 Dodge Magnum wagons and 2005-11 Dodge Dakota pickups.

Another 2015 recall of nearly 438,000 vehicles with front passenger Takata airbag inflators includes 2003 Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups.

In 2016, Fiat Chrysler expanded its Takata recalls to include another 4.3 million vehicles with front passenger airbag inflators that included 2008-12 Dodge Challenger coupes, 2006-12 Chargers, 2005-11 Dakota pickups, 2004-09 Durango SUVs, 2005-08 Magnums, 2004-08 Dodge Ram 1500 pickups, 2005-09 Dodge Ram 2500 pickups, 2006-09 Dodge Ram 3500 pickups, 2007-10 Dodge Ram/Ram 3500 cab chassis and 2008-10 Dodge Ram/Ram 4500/5500 cab chassis vehicles. Fiat Chrysler said 44.7 percent of recalled Takata airbag inflators have been fixed as of June 2018.

About 25 percent of recalls aren’t completed by consumers, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Some Dodges also are included in a May 2018 recall of 4.8 million Fiat Chrysler vehicles for an issue that could prevent canceling cruise control. They include 2015-18 Challengers and 2014-18 Charger, Dodge Journey crossovers and Durango SUVs.

Fiat Chrysler has advised customers not to use cruise control until their vehicles are fixed with a software update. FCA says recall completion information is not yet available.

The 2015 Charger and Challenger, 2014-15 Durango and 2013-15 Dodge Viper sports car are part of a July 2015 recall of more than 1.4 million vehicles. These vehicles’ radios can allow someone to remotely access some vehicle control systems, increasing the risk of a crash. The fix is a software update and FCA closed the open cellular connection to the vehicles. This recall had a 98.6 percent completion rate as of July 2017, the last data available, FCA said.

And the 2012-14 Charger is part of a 2016 recall of more than 800,000 vehicles for confusing gear shifters that a driver could mistake for not being in park and exit the vehicle. Fiat Chrysler is aware of 41 injuries that could be related to the defect. The remedy is a software update. Fiat Chrysler said 78.3 percent of vehicles had been fixed as of April 2018, the latest data available.
