Alfa Romeo Maintenance Schedules Q&A

Alfa Romeo Maintenance Pricing & Schedules

With roots heading all the way back to 1911, Alfa Romeo is a modern-day classic. A member of the Fiat group since 1986, and now part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles since 2007, this line of automobiles and SUVs features old world charm in spades. So stylish are Alfa Romeo vehicles that you can almost imagine an Italian craftsman pounding out by hand, the fenders, hoods and doors of these latest vehicles. If only that were still true.

Like all vehicles on the road today, they still need to be properly maintained in order to get the most out of them. That’s why Alfa Romeo has compiled a service schedule, that if followed, will provide many years of driving enjoyment.

The guidelines for your Alfa Romeo vehicle center around an oil change indicator system that alerts you via dashboard alert when it’s time to change your oil. It may be as soon as 3,500 miles or as far away as 10,000 miles, but the system adapts depending on your driving habits to determine how much life is still left in your crankcase. Regardless of what the indicator light says, a synthetic oil and oil filter change should occur no later than 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever occurs first.

Alfa Romeo also suggests that periodic checks be performed every 600 miles or before long trips, to top off all fluids (including wiper fluid – there is nothing more annoying than an empty fluid reservoir) tire inflation pressure and the engine oil level.

Using mileage-based Intervals, your Alfa Romeo owner’s manual will recommend at 10-, 20-, 30- and 40,000-mile scheduled services, that in addition to an oil and filter change, your Alfa Romeo service technician should rotate the tires, check the brake pads, rotors, hoses and parking brake system, inspect the accessory drive belts and inspect the battery. At the same time, they should inspect the engine cooling system, exhaust, and engine air cleaner, if you routinely drive in dusty, dirty off-road conditions.

There is a complete list of items to be covered at various schedules throughout the life of your Alfa Romeo, available in your vehicle’s owner’s manual. They include items like spark plugs which should be changed every 30,000 miles, and the in-cabin air filter, which should be replaced every 10,000.

Extended Warranty and Maintenance Plans

Alfa Romeos are covered by a 4-year/50,000-mile comprehensive vehicle warranty that provides bumper-to-bumper coverage. That combines with a 3-year, unlimited mileage anti-corrosion limited warranty, and an 8-year/80,000-mile Federal emission warranty.

Alfa Romeo offers owners the chance to expand the coverage of their Alfa Romeo vehicle through the company’s Alfa Romeo Service and Care program. Free maintenance is standard for the first year of ownership, with additional coverage offered for 3-years/30,000-miles or 4-years/40,000-miles. The brand also offers Alfa Romeo Maximum Care with coverage of up to 5,000 critical components with term options that can extend to 8-years/125,000 miles or according to FCA “a lifetime.” Deductibles of $200, $100, $0 are part of the plan, which can be utilized at FCA dealers across the United States. The plan is transferable, but pricing varies.
