When you purchase an Acura, it’s good advice to consider repairs through factory-authorized dealers and service centers. They have firsthand knowledge of your vehicle and are always up to date in the latest service bulletins from the manufacturer. And if you’re leasing, many car leases including those from American Honda Finance Co (AHFC) require the use of Acura original equipment parts when making the car whole again.

While independent shops or big box automotive service centers may offer attractive rates, you can be assured Acura dealers will be using genuine Acura parts in performing repairs.

Training

Acura service mechanics receive periodic factory training on the latest techniques necessary to keep your Acura investment running properly. They include the Honda Service Technical College (HSTC) and Honda Professional Automotive Career Training (PACT), which trains Acura and Honda dealership mechanics and technicians to become better equipped with knowledge for an effective repair of your Acura vehicle.

Loan car policy

If you purchased Acura Plus and the repair is covered, and the actual repair time is over 5 hours you may be entitled to a Car Rental under the Acura Plus Car Rental provisions. If you are a regular customer of an individual dealer, some may offer loaner cars for repairs taking more than two hours.

Inspected yearly, the nationwide network is a collective that Honda / Acura has determined meets standards that include having the proper equipment, specialized knowledge and Acura-specific training. Acura has developed training courses that range from common service training to more specialized offerings involving high-strength steel repair, restraint collision repair, electrical collision repair, air conditioning collision repair and tire pressure monitoring system collision repair. In the case of high-strength steel repair, training videos point out the possible danger involved if a unibody part is not repaired properly using proper Acura-approved repair techniques.
